What do you love about where you live?
Submitted by Emu with a Clue.
I love the fact that I'm in the middle of nowhere. Very peaceful and quiet. Lots of space, and cheap!
Here's a photo taken from the back of our house nearing dusk. All we have to see is a lot of fields, which is nice.
What is (or would be) your DJ name?
This is an easy one. My DJ name is Ebauche. I'm not really a DJ, but I play electronic music.
If you haven't checked it out already, please feel free to go to my website and download any or all of the music I've released.
You can download my releases from here:

What websites do you visit every day?
Submitted by Chez Michelle.
- Google Reader
Probably my first and last port of call every day (and at times in between) - Vox
Naturally - Lifehacker
as a result of their constantly informative feed - Harvest
This a fairly new addition to my daily list, it's a time tracking service that I'm trying out for work - Gubb
This is my to-do list of choice. It's got everything I need. - Google Calendar
In conjunction with Harvest and Gubb, this is pretty much how I track and plan everything for work, and just about everything. I wouldn't remember half the stuff I need to do otherwise.
On top of the above I keep in touch with a few private forums with friends of mine. I have a single saved session for firefox that I generally work from, which has two windows, one for work, one for well, procrastinating and avoiding work. Thanks to workspaces I can keep the procrastination on another workspace so there's less chance of it distracting me.
I'm incredibly glad I didn't install an extension to notify me of new feeds, I'd constantly be distracted.
I think I might need to get out more. Summer's coming, possibly I can emerge from my hibernation. Festival time is upon us!
What are the weirdest song titles in your playlist or music collection?
Submitted by Charline.
That's a tough one. I know whatever I list here will inevitably mean me missing out something hilarious, weird, or downright disturbing.
Here goes anyway (this might take a while whilst I go through some likely candidates):
- Ween - spinal meningitis (got me down)
- Wat Tyler - The tools of satan and the glorious army of the supreme soviet (I'm feeling mellow)
- Autechre - Lentic Catachresis
- The Flaming Lips - Approaching Pavonis Mons By Balloon (Utopia Planitia)
- Lexaunculpt - A Funeral Service For A Pink Elephant Ear
- Matmos - Zealous Order Of Candied Knights
- They Might Be Giants - Sapphire Bullets Of Pure Love
I could go on, but I'll crown it off with:
- Cassetteboy - Big Ugly Fat-Necked Wombat-Headed Big Bellied Magpie-Legged Narrow-Hipped Splay-Footed Sons Of Irish Bailiffs
(which seems apt for some reason)
What's your musical horoscope? (Put your player on shuffle and write down the first 10 songs that come up.)
Inspired by Stephanie.
Well, this was always going to be extremely random. I queued up our entire music collection (myself and my house-mate have combined our collections) and it totals about 40,000 tracks and 213Gb of storage. I wasn't sure what would come up, and unsurprisingly a number of songs I've never heard before appeared.
Anyway, enough waffling - here's the first 10 tracks that came up (I'm still listening on shuffle and getting to hear more things I've never heard before).
- Paul Simon - Paul Simon - Paranoia Blues (Never heard this before)
- DJ Rupture - Special Gunpowder - Lonesome Side (feat Lily)
- Luke Vibert and BJ Cole - Don't Panic - Baby Steps
- Little Green Techno Elves - We Are Not Your Friends - 240
- Jinx Lennon - Live at the Spirit Store - So Frightened
- Gladys Bently - Roots n Blues Vol 1 - Worried Blues
- LFO - Sheath - 'Premacy
- Zebda - Essence Ordinaire - Le Petit Robert (Never heard this before)
- Skeeter - Skeeter Retrigger Droon - The Death Triangle - Rat Soup (Don't think I'd heard this either)
- Al Green - Gets Next To You - I'll be standing by
[Artist - Album - Track]
Not sure what that says about me.
What's your favorite blend or brand of coffee or tea?
Well, for tea I guess it would have to be Lyon's tea.. which is an Irish brand. I don't think there is a better blend. I do like Twinings Earl Grey as well.. and on occassion I go for a fair trade Rooibosch (not sure if that is spelt right) which is a tea made from a South African "Red Bush". It's really nice and has the added bonus of being naturally decaffeinated.
Coffee? Well, up until a couple of weeks ago I would never ever drink coffee. Then I went to Venice, Italy, and thought I'd try it out as Italians have quite a coffee thing going. I have to say I liked it. I don't think I could possibly have a favourite type, but on my initial taste testing I am leaning toward making laté's over percolated coffee. I have bought some Lavazza coffee now that I'm home and will try it out tomorrow.
What books did you love as a child?
Submitted by hearts.
Well, I guess my favourites were Dr. Seuss and Rohl Dahl. Particular favourites would have been:
and of course:
What comedian makes you pee your pants laughing?

Bill Hicks
Bill Hicks is hilarious. He really doesn't care who he insults and is so often bang on the mark. I remember listening to one of his shows originally recorded around the time of the Gulf War in 1991 (I think); I was listening to it just after the second Gulf war, and it just applied so well second time around.. helped along by the fact that he mentions Bush and you can easily apply it to GW Bush. Wicked stuff.
Eddie Izzard
I'm also a big fan of Eddie Izzard's "Dress to Kill". This show had me in absolute stitches. He really hit the spot on this one. One part of his show he does a skit in English and then for some reason I can't remember, he decides to repeat the entire skit in French.. now I don't understand French, and he was just repeating what he had just said a few minutes before, but it almost seemed funnier the second time round, in a different language. I don't think I can do it justice talking about it.. just watch it and enjoy.
Billy Connolly
Last but not least, Billy Connolly is just great. Always entertains me and rambles so well. His sketch about needing to go to a proctologist is one of my favourite
What's the most drastic change you've ever made to your appearance?
Submitted by Laurie.
I don't know that I've ever thought too much about my appearance. When I was 18 I shaved my head for an Aids Awareness week fund raiser and pretty much since then I have always had a pretty short haircut.
When I was about 20, I think, I gave up shaving. Way too much of a pain in the ass for me to bother with. Since then I've always been bearded or have heavy stubble.
Perhaps though I can demonstrate my most recent drastic change in appearance through photography:
This was from the end of a beard growing competition. Three of us didn't shave for a few months, for no reason other than 'it seemed like a good idea at the time'.
We ended up going for a hot-towel and cut-throat razor shave. I recommend it to any bloke that hasn't tried it before.
How do you eat your pizza: folded, flat or with a fork and knife?
Submitted by danimass.
Well, flat, and in slices. Fairly regular. Although I do like to eat a Pizza Calzone from time to time.. they're quite tasty.
Also, I definitely recommend putting an egg on top of a pizza next time you have one.. very very nice.
My girlfriend , makes a great home-made pizza which usually involves a more scone like base (I'm not sure if that's the right term) but they are always delicious and extremely flavoursome!
By the way, if you're ever in Ranelagh, Dublin, I can highly recommend trying out Bistro Bianconi - they have some really amazing pizza.
You can read an article about Bistro Bianconi here or visit their website (which needs a little work!)
